We know our tot's blankie is much more than a piece of fabric. It's what rubs her face when she's soothing herself to sleep. It's what keeps her calm during long drives.
Now, thanks to Jan Hancock, it can be a treasure chest of discoveries. This North Vancouver grandmother of three prides herself in making unique patchwork sweater quilts ($50-75+ for finished or commissioned pieces). Our curious explorer loves skimming her chubby hands over the blanket's zippers and buttons (to get her started on dressing herself). Jan often includes companion stuffed animals, which our princess can hide in the many blanket pockets ("Where did bunny go? There he is!").
When our babe is ready for bed, the cozy soft flannelette backings, patchwork sweater-piece fronts and embroidered wool stitching are sure to put her eyes at half-mast. (And ours too.)
