Getting Cheeky

canada (Aug.19.08)

In the  past few years, making decisions has gotten increasingly difficult. McDreamy or McSteamy? Cloth or disposable?

AppleCheeksFrom the bulkiness factor to our little apple bottom screaming at the least bit of wetness, we gave up on cloth. (Oh the eco-shame.) Then we came across AppleCheeks, a new reusable diapering system from Montreal moms Ilana Grostern and Amy Appleton Venu, that's soaks above the rest.

Start with their rainbow assortment of envelope covers($20 each), which come in two adjustable sizes to ensure a snug, custom fit. The waterproof outer layer guarantees dryness, while the soft microfleece inside ensures soft fabric against Baby's sensitive skin.

As for liners, 100% cotton ($4.00), hemp ($7.00) and bamboo blend ($9.00) options offer varying degrees of absorbency depending on our needs. For our really sensitive princess, we're stocking up on the 2-layer hemp booster with stay dry liner ($4.25) to keep moisture away. (And keep her sleeping through the night.)

The best part? Compared to disposables, we're saving up to $2000 from birth to diaper-free! And when we're done we can hand them down to the next little pooper. If only deciding on our favourite TV doctor was this easy.
