We wish summer long weekends were a bit more carefree and didn’t require military strategy to execute. Nevertheless, road trips with our crew are so dreamy when the little ones can catch a few winks.
If only we weren’t constantly freaking out about the dreaded car seat head-slump. Innovative mom Melanie Risdon-Betcher of
Melrose Kids tried everything to set her son up for a comfy car seat sleep. Out of desperation, she took the do-it-yourself approach and the Head Snuggler ($15) was born. This nifty, little band of material fits over the back of the car seat and then slides over our kiddo’s forehead, properly supporting our child’s neck and spine.
We have never seen anything like it before (admittedly, it looks rather funny), but it had our kids resting comfortably before they could say “Are we there yet?” No more head bob and flop meant our tots breathed easy and had a longer, deeper sleep. The Head Snuggler is backed by a paediatrician and a chiropractor, which had us resting a little easier too.
Now if we could only find a little invention to magically make the loads of laundry disappear when we return from vacation, we’d have it made.
