Is getting your kids to the Dentist harder than getting them into bed? We have some tips that will help make those important visits easier (on everyone).
It’s recommended to take your child to the dentist as soon as that first tooth appears. Maintaining a schedule of regular visits will help ensure their teeth are healthy, so no major issues crop up.
Taking your kids to your own dental checkups, and showing that you aren’t scared is a great way to help ease their own fear. Taking the time to explain what will happen during their visits, as well as what teeth are (by visiting sites like www.aquafresh.ca) are both great ways to help make their visits less of a surprise and more enjoyable.
Lastly, some dentists will give a star or some gift from a treasure chest at the end of each successful visit but if yours does not, that doesn’t mean you can’t! Let your kids pick out their own toothbrush or give them a small token of how proud you are that they did so well at the Dentist.
Fresh Tip: Make sure those visits are as smooth as possible by taking care of their teeth all-year around. We have plenty of tips on how to do that on our Healthy Smile section.
