With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we know that having a night alone is not always an option. Family Nutritionist, Lianne Phillipson-Webb, talks to us about how to make the day special for the whole family...
St. Valentine’s day... it oozes romance and candle-lit dinners. Ah, the memories. Except now that the little ones are involved, “making that magic” holds new meaning.
Going out for dinner on Valentine’s Day is a thing of the past for most couples with young kids.
This year, February 14 falls on a Saturday which means the whole day can be filled with hearts and love for the entire family. Why not start the day with heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast, drizzled with blueberry sauce, back bacon on the side or some organic breakfast sausages? Use that same heart-shaped cookie cutter from the pancakes to make heart-shaped sandwiches for lunch and some warming soup on the side. For dinner, get the children involved in one of these easy recipes. Choose from Chicken Breasts with Cheesy Garlic Sweet Potatoes and a side of steamed green beans or Baked Pecorino Garlic Risotto and lemony green beans for dinner. And to finish off the evening, a Chocolate Fondue with fresh fruit will have everyone feeling the love.
The recipes are nutritious, easy and FAST because no one wants to be stuck in the kitchen all evening, even with red roses keeping you company!
