About Sweetmama Editor
Nadine Silverthorne’s love of journaling began in Grade One with the entry, “I am the greatest dancer!” Two babies (and countless diaper changes) later, she has found her home away from home as editor of SweetMama. Farmer's Pantry, Clarksburg
The drive from Thornbury to The Farmer's Pantry in Clarksburg was breathtaking, with fall colours and orchard upon orchard dotting the way. The Farmer's Pantry proved to be our favourite stop, when we were given a reusable bag and sent out into the groves of Macintosh (out of season), Cortland and Spy apples. We picked a bounty that will make jars of applesauce to last the year, and the children danced through the trees, picking fruit off the ground in their very own Garden of Eden.
Lucy made friends with the bunnies out front in the petting farm. A true animal lover, she relished in baa-ing sheep, busy hens and a slow donkey, who seemed not to care that we were in his presence. Cider and apples in hand, we took our tired selves back to the hotel to rest up before dinner.
