We’re grateful for a homey local spot to catch up with mommy friends - especially if no one can get territorial over shared toys (this includes our laptop).
Run by Leonor Filipe (a friendly mom and a great cook), the Junction’s Gingerbread House Family Café offers a colourful play area, healthy kid-friendly meals, organic tetra packs ($1), fancy coffees ($2-4, half price on Wednesdays!) and free wifi. (Charge your laptop at home – outlets are rare to avoid little finger accidents.)
Freshly prepared before our eyes, we devoured a veggie bean and cheddar wrap ($8, including a side), and rewarded good behaviour with gluten-free cookies ($1).
But the best part was when Mama got to play on Facebook (in peace!).
