As parents to wild, er, rambunctious children, we’ve seen our share of circus tricks. But we had no idea their flair for the absurd could be harnessed with such spectacular results.
It turns out all they needed was a little direction. Enter Centre of Gravity circus training studio where kids get to channel their silly into self-esteem-building acrobatic feats. Monday to Fridays, from 4pm to 6pm ($21/class), professional circus performers teach five to 10-year-olds age-appropriate tricks using the same trapeze bars, trampolines, silks and other apparatus they train with themselves. They even run March break and summer camps ($290/week).
The classes haven’t put a stop to the couch-diving stunts at home, but we do detect better form.
