Boutique Chic

Walk. Stop. Pivot. Pause. No, we’re not practicing for the catwalk. We’re standing in awe of Calgary’s latest baby and toddler boutique: The Mom Store.

Ushering our children through the door at the Chinook Centre, we start salivating at the numerous exclusive lines on display (good thing their bibs are extra absorbent). As the first in Canada to bring in Tooo Cute! Clothing, we immediately snatch up an adorable summer tee featuring original artwork ($24.95). While our children are happily playing with the staff and toys, we grab the boutique’s hottest seller, the Boon Frog Pod bath organizer ($39.95). And just when we think we can’t get enough, we spot the first in Alberta ultra-modern, ultra-lux Capretti convertible crib ($1399.95).

But this is just the beginning. In early August, the shop will be relocating across the mall. This larger space will feature a daddy den with recliners and big screen TVs (perfect for when mom tries on her new nursing bra), a nursing lounge and an imaginative play area.

If only we could find an equally high scale restaurant that’s as kid-friendly…
