It’s All in the Name

Bubbling up with enthusiasm when friends announce their pregnancy? Easy. Coming up with an innovative gift? Hmmm…

With the artwork of painter Amy Arnott, we can offer something memorable. Working in a research lab, she studied spectrograms to analyze the origins of language in babies. Then during a foray into Arabic calligraphy and pure Morrocan pigments, Amy invented a technique for creating ethereal backgrounds.

In her series “The Look of Sound,” Amy creates custom paintings of meaningful sounds, like a baby’s name. Each canvas ($145/12"x24" to $575/24"x48") can be customized by word, size and shape of the canvas. We were moved by the magical quality of “Wish” and the fun of “Silliness”.

In a word: Wow.
