As the saying goes: “Necessity is the mother of invention.” Or is it, “a disgruntled mother is bound to invent something”?
After being frustrated by past shopping experiences with her boy, our fellow Montreal mama, Amy Cline, has just opened the doors to Faon. Named after the wooden fawn that will be gracing its front door, this boutique is made for moms who want to shop without wanting to pull out their hair.
Rather than run around after Junior while he tears the joint apart, all shelves are high enough only for us adults to reach. Our bambino will be given free reign to skip about the playroom (and test all the toys we can later purchase) while we indulge in our favourite brand names like Jack the Rabbit, Wisey, Baby Bonkie and Girl Charlee.
We’re crazy about how Amy’s frustrations with not finding a wide selection of boy’s clothing has led her to stocking her shelves with mini-man brands like Reccostyle. Now that’s enough to turn any disgruntled mommy’s frown upside down, isn’t it?
