In the Pink

Toronto (Jul.03.08)

We secretly hope that our preschooler will grow up to be the next Julien MacDonald or Narciso Rodriguez. (Keeping his mom in the hottest runway looks.) Jul3_SMTor_Pink_w220_h169.jpgSadly, it will take years to see if that dream comes to fruition. Luckily for Simon Says owner Tina Gnat-Gray the wait is over. 2008 saw the launch of Pink Charlotte, her incredibly stylish line of girly frocks, co-designed by her 4-year-old daughter, Charlotte. (Charlotte helps choose fabrics and is the brand’s fit model.)

Sure to make a statement, these easy-to-wear dresses featuring bright prints for girls age 2-10, offer comfort and wearability without compromising style. We’re torn between the very au courant floral Pom Pom dress in Peony ($68.95) and the retro-inspired Tie Strap dress in Daisy ($68.95). The Kennedy Polkadot Dress ($68.95) looks fit to wear to an inauguration (or the dreaded fancy preschool interview.)

Oh sure, the dresses may not fit Tina (or us) any time soon, but the makings of a future fashion star are in the details.
