Though we hate to think about covering up the scent of fresh baby head (hands down the best smell in the world), those newborn noggins lose a lot of heat. Hospital issue hats, while a generous necessity, leave much to be desired. And the caps we received at our baby shower were all too big.

After bringing her first baby home from the hospital, Paige Brown discovered that hunting for a stylish, warm, comfortable and snug-fitting newborn hat was next to impossible. So she designed The Wee Hat on the hunch that other parents might be having the same issue. (We did!)

Three 100% cotton hats ($35) of Lilliputian proportions, with no seams or scratchy tags to irritate delicate skin, arrive packaged perfectly for gift giving. Available in three colour combinations, we think The Wee Hat makes an ideal present when meeting a freshly minted human for the first time.

Though, if you expect to get past the front door, heed our gentle reminder to bring a casserole along as well. (You don’t want to cross a hungry new mom.)
