There’s a repressed ballerina in all of us. As little girls we dreamed of tulle skirts, perfect pirouettes and pretty pink ribbons in our hair. All that twisting and turning may have spun us in a different direction, but our inner Prima Ballerina is calling.
Our newfound urge to dance is the result of Tutu Design and the cutest little ballet-inspired slippers ($34-$38) we’ve ever seen.
Founded by local moms Rebecca Robbins and Kim Hausch and handcrafted in Vancouver from quality leather, these slippers are sure to become a keepsake. (So we can plié away now that we have the perfect partner: our little girls.)
If your imagination has the two of you dancing with the Paris Opéra, you’ll love the Parisienne and the pink Eiffel Towers. For a dance class, the simple Petal is perfect. Our little ballerinas will leap at the site of Pirouette; like slippers out of Swan Lake, these ribboned beauties are irresistible.
And what would a ballerina be without her tutu? Luckily, these slippers have beautiful tulled skirts to match ($20-$30).
Watch out, Karen Kain.
