SM: Tell us a bit about yourself.
I started my blog on June 15, 2009. I suppose it can be best understood as a mommy blog with a sense of humour, since I am a stay-at-home mom with two small children (translation: my sense of humour SAVES!). I write what I know, what I enjoy, what amuses me, and what I am currently thinking about. Many stories are about my experiences as a mom, my own childhood, and the things I love like reading, and shopping. An added plus: you can also find some videos of my little people singing their favourite ABBA tunes.
SM: What’s your secret to raising them fabulous?
Once we get respect and manners out of the way, its all about having fun all the time. Music, dress-up, art, dancing – whatever it takes to make it happen, we will do it.
SM: What’s been your biggest challenge in balancing motherhood and the other parts of yourself (work, me-time, writing, etc.)?
My biggest challenge is definitely trying to carve out my own time, without them feeling deprived of that time with me. I’m finding that the older they get, the harder it gets to have that time for myself.
SM: Knowing what you know now, what’s the one thing you wish you could tell all new moms or moms-to-be?
I wish I could tell all new moms-to-be to spend every free moment sleeping, relaxing, sleeping and then sleeping some more. Did I mention that you should be SLEEPING????
What is the one item you can’t live without for yourself?

I would have to say the one thing I absolutely can’t live without are books. I LOVE, love, love to read – it is my favourite thing to give and receive as a gift. I buy most of mine at Chapters/Indigo.

What is the one item you can’t live without for your children?
 |
Both my kids love Playmobil products. We have many of their products, and it's fun to see how they mix the play sets together to create their own little scenarios. It’s not unusual to see knights, pirates and Santa Claus sitting at the airport, waiting to board the plane to the party at the modern house, hosted by monkeys. It doesn’t get much better than that.
