SweetMama We Love: Adrienne Morry
Hometown: Newfoundland
Mom to: Emma (2)
Also known as: High school substitute teacher, former model, avid supporter of Amnesty International and ONE.org, and has a sponsor child from Ethiopia. Piano and guitar player, runner and photography enthusiast.
After leaving modelling to pursue a higher education, she learned she was pregnant mid-studies, but becoming a mama didn't stop her. Heading back to school full-time when Emma was a month old (and driving two hours a day), Adrienne finished her first degree with a seven-month-old and a partner who was on the other side of the country. She recently finished her second degree in Education and now Adrienne, her husband and daughter are finally united (in the same province).
SM: What’s your secret to raising them fabulous?
Patience and time delegation! Taking six university courses while raising a toddler alone got exhausting at times. The last two years didn't leave a lot of time for pampering. If you map out your week ahead of time, or even on a daily basis, you have a little time left over for yourself, and that goes a long way in having a happy child, too! Children sense stress, so delegate, delegate, delegate!
SM: You have three hours to yourself, child-free — what do you do?
Actually, I'd probably head to the gym! I rarely have time to spend in a gym anymore like I used to, so it would actually be a treat!
SM: Knowing what you know now, what’s the one thing you wish you could tell all new moms or moms-to-be?
PLEASE take time for yourself! Even if it's a bubble bath, a short walk or a glass of wine. Carve out time for your significant other. Family will not mind helping you out at all! My husband and I were very fortunate in that we were able to take a couple of short vacations with our parents taking care of the baby.
What is the one item you can’t live without for yourself?

Huggies baby wipes! I used them for Emma when she was a newborn, and I use them now.
Toddlers get messy, and I always keep a container of them everywhere (in the car is a must!).
