The days are getting brighter, but the sun isn’t the only thing our pale, tired selves are craving. What happened to our regular visits to the spa or salon for a much-needed beauty boost?
(We’re looking at you, sunshines of our lives.)
The brand new Sunny Mummy Spa provides the ultimate in neighbourhood relaxation by making it convenient for moms to come in (without the need for a sitter). Run by the warm Nilla Petta and named after her daughter Soleil, the bright Trinity Bellwoods space offers a complimentary playroom (with a door that shuts) and an ECE on staff for the ultimate in pampering.
A 60-minute pre- or post-natal massage ($100) had us wondering if 18 months later still counts as post-natal (or whether we need to get pregnant again). Thankfully Shiatsu ($80/60 min.), Hot Stone ($120/60 min.) and Thai massage ($100/60 min.) made for better options than reproduction.
We couldn’t help but smile at packages like Ready for Delivery ($160), 4th Trimester Rejuvenation ($225) and Serenity Now ($190). And the nursing-friendly spa takes the stress out of getting a pedicure ($45 for full, $30 for express) with a hungry baby nearby.
What’s the point of being well-heeled when our heels are chapped? Bring on sandal season!
